Pondicherry Sailing Association conduct International Coastal Clean-up Day Sailing Regatta 2021 (18-09-21 & 19-09-21) starting From Thengaithittu Fishing Harbour.

Pondicherry sailing association is organizing an interclub regatta called the COASTAL CLEAN UP SAILING REGATTA 2021. The objective is to raise awareness regarding trash and debris that are polluting our oceans, to identify the sources of liter, and to change behaviours that causes pollution. By involving sailors in coastal cleanup efforts is a means to raise awareness about the sport of sailing among the people of Pondicherry, especially the youth and promote the sport. The regatta will start with a small 20 mins race in the lagoon where the children will collect plastic while sailing. The child who will gather the maximum plastic will be the winner.
